Community Engagement Outreach Initiative

​The Greater Baltimore Urban League has partnered with the Maryland State Department of Education to create a toolkit for Local education Agencies to provide information about how families and community members can be empowered to make informed decisions that lead to improved student and school outcomes. 

Maryland Alliance for Racial Equity in Education

An alliance of education equity advocates, education researchers, and civil rights organizations that have banded together to utilize research and advocacy to ensure that  the needs of African American and Latino students within the Maryland Public Education System are prioritized.

Maryland Coalition for Equity

A coalition of organizations focusing on increasing the number of minority educators in Maryland schools and to increase the amount of outreach to schools/communities.

Essa Leadership Learning Community

A group of state and local leaders in education and teacher preparation who convene to create strategies to elevate principals and school leaders, particularly as a strategy to turn around the most challenged schools.
